A Keyboard Stencil – is a gadget for your keyboard, which helps you mastering or practicing touch typing.
The keyboard stencil attaches to your keyboard and holds your fingers in place by the means of extensions of the profile raising above the keys. This helps you keep your hands anchored throughout long writing sessions, or when typing at a computer with a touch screen interface.
Originally invented in 2018, the keyboard stencils were greatly improved by the ViaTyping research and development lab, in Lake Mary, FL.
There are several types of the keyboard stencils:
1 – flexible keyboard stencils – made of a flexible material, it is secured temporarily between the keys of the keyboard. Its small physical features can be sensed with the fingers whenever the user howers over the keyboard.
2 – Hard keyboard stencils – usually made of a rigid plastic. These stencils can be used on a keyboard just like the flexible ones, but also can be attached permanently to a keyboard.
